About Us
Our History
Having started out as a regular consultancy in 2012, we realized that local staff does typically not get the opportunity to do more than basic enumerator tasks.
In 2015 we informally started working on a system in which local M&E staff would not only conduct basic tasks of data-collection and data entry, but in which they would also acquire skills in research-design, data-management, and data-analysis. In each of our projects, local staff is actively involved in developing these skills and putting them into practice.
Our Mission
Our mission at Liberiamonitors is to make M&E in the Liberian development sector as local as possible.
Meet Our Team
Currently, Liberiamonitors has four core members and several associate researchers.
Thomas Kruiper
Founder / General Director
Thomas Kruiper is the General Director of Liberiamonitors. He has been active as a researcher in Liberia since 2012 and has worked with a variety of local and international NGOs. He is also a professor of African Politics and Political Theory at Saint Louis University and IE University in Madrid and is the author of the book “Conflict, Natural Resources, and UN Sanctions” (2014).
Frank Garpue
Data Analyst
Frank Garpue (Gbarnga, Bong County) has been part of the Liberiamonitors team since 2013. His learning activities involve data management and data analysis. His expertise lies with GIS mapping and quantitative research
Miatta Fahnbulleh
Focus Group Leader
Miatta Fahnbulleh (Monrovia, Liberia) has been part of the Liberiamonitors team since 2015. Her responsibilities and expertise are in focus group management.
Godfrey Dortu
Research Design
Godfrey Dortu (Monrovia, Liberia) has been part of the Liberiamonitors team since 2012. His responsibilities and expertise are in research design and information technology.
Mauro Leopardi
Student Intern
Mauro Leopardi is a student of International Relations at the Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV). His responsibilities lie in desk research, survey design, website design, and other administrative taks.
